Essenhyrst Dobermanns are Robert & Christina Frier, from KwaZulu Natal Midlands in South Africa.
In 1983 my first registered Dobermann was a Del `Escaut bitch which I purchased from Des Kloeck (Jhb). Her name was De l Escaut Meggy . A daughter of Black Jack who was a son of CH Del ‘Escaut Davelin. I started showing her in the show ring in 1984. She did not rise to Champion status, but did receive a RCC from (Mr S. Rowe) at the S A Ladies Kennel Association Championship Show on the 14th October 1984 & won numerous classes in various Open & Championship shows. She was a quality Bitch & Champion in my eyes & sadly died after an operation for mastitis.
Coincidentally my wife Tina also had an interest in Dobermanns since 1988 and owned a black & tan bitch called Roxanne in the UK.
After 11 years of living in the UK & out of showing Dobermanns, we returned to the show ring in April 2007 with Hercules. We acquired him from Jurgen Trebbin, in partnership with Donne Lucas, on 4th January of 2007. To date he has done us proud as is evident by his achievements in the show ring, which has prompted me to compile this website.
As of the 17th December 2007 we acquired a second Dobe. A bitch, called Chevindale Ureka Princess of Essenhyrst. She was bred by Brian & Sharon Blades, from CH Chevindale Penny lane of Southernbell & Vom Illerdamm Goran, who is related to our Hercules through Nitro.
